Copying text from PowerPoint on Mac results in error (black rectangle instead of text)

As in title - I tried to copy the text from the slides because the translation future built in PPT is lacking, but each time when pasted to voila it resulted in a black rectangle. I should paste it to notes and then copy it from notes to voila, then it worked.
